Club Store Packaging Checklist
Are you entertaining a large club store opportunity (Costco, Sam’s, etc)?
Here is my Primary Packaging checklist for critical points to consider:
– Weight of the primary package not to exceed 25lbs.
– Colorful print visual on 4 sides if possible.
– Package material should be environmentally friendly.
– Provide clear bold bar codes & SKU’s for scanning.
– Should be no more than 6-12 months supply. Product should sell within 4-6 weeks.
– No cutting corrugated cases for shipper to access.
– Clear graphics, use VBI’s (Visual Brand Identifiers). Keep the marketing simple
with your product name, description, and promise to the consumer. Apple – IPad – Resolutionary!
Here is my Secondary Pallet checklist:
– 48″ x 40″ with no overhang.- Minimum corrugated around product (possibly only corner posts)
– Product ready for quick setup and direct sales after stretch wrap has been removed.
– Communicate graphics and message from 4 sides.
– In some cases pallet might require center fillers to avoid excessive product.
Please provide your feedback and success stories relating to a club store packaging experience!
